Carpentry and Joinery

 

Skillway students on our popular woodworking courses are taught to identify the tools and equipment required and  learn how to use and care for them. They also learn to plan and make craft projects or  follow a prescribed plan to complete various types of projects.

 

 

Our Tutors are skilled professionals who encourage proficiency in practical techniques and skills. They demonstrate  the basic different jointing techniques and the use of various finishing mediums including lathe work. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Each student will learn to make simple projects which they take home when complete. Each subsequent project adds to the skills learned.  Many students will go on to Woodworking and Joinery courses at a College and many go on to work in the building trade, or for small local businesses.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Full instruction and constant emphasis is made on understanding and applying health and safety requirements.
